TFTP Server in OS X Leopard

Enjoy all the amazing TFTP power already built into your operating system, no need to go buy 3rd party software.

  1. Enable a Terminal
  2. Copy the files you want to serve up to /private/tftpboot
  3. type: sudo launchctl
  4. from the launchd% prompt type the following:
    1. load -F /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/tftp.plist
    2. start com.apple.tftpd

** USE your TFTP Server at this point **

  5. When you are done type the following, again at the launchd% prompt:
    1. stop com.apple.tftpd
    2. unload load -F /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/tftp.plist
You can thank me later.
